FSR 08 — confined spaces Understanding your Workplace Specific Critical Controls Instructions: The images in this presentation should depict the specific controls you have agreed at your workplace. Substitute these images for the actual controls you will be using and expect to see implemented.

3 Critical Control 1 A SPECIFIC RISK ASSESSMENT IS CONDUCTED FOR EACH CONFINED SPACE BY COMPETENT PERSONS Insert information on the location of the confined spaces register

4 Critical Control 2 WORKERS, STAND BY PERSON AND SUPERVISORS ARE APPROPRIATELY TRAINED, CERTIFIED AND COMPETENT Insert specific training by role required for confined space working

5 Critical Control 3 ENTRY CONTROLLED BY A PERMIT SYSTEM
Permit issuers will need to be identified within the Health and Safety Plan. Each confined space entry requires a specific risk assessment – this will contain information that you can use in your review to verify critical controls Provide a photo here for your specific person(s).

Emergency information and planning will be contained within the permit. This is primary source of information for the specific activity. Other reference points could be the Health and Safety Plan and Emergency Plan.
