*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)
O God, the one who deserves our praise, in Jesus’ name hear us as we confess our sins. We speak when we should listen; we hesitate when we should act.
16
Anger prevents us from sharing your love; selfishness stops us from stepping out in faith. You call us to proclaim boldly the dawn of your kingdom, but our shouts turn out to be mere whispers.
17
Wash us of our sin, and fill us with compassion
Wash us of our sin, and fill us with compassion. Redeem us in Christ Jesus, in whose name we pray. (silence is observed for reflection and prayer)
18
ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Hear for your comfort the words of Paul: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else
19
Accept your forgiveness and rejoice in a love stronger than our sin.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39). Accept your forgiveness and rejoice in a love stronger than our sin.
20

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 145
PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 145
23
I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless you, and praise your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall laud your works to another,
24
and shall declare your mighty acts
and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. The might of your awesome deeds shall be proclaimed, and I will declare your greatness. They shall celebrate the fame of your abundant goodness,
25
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
26
and all your faithful shall bless you
and all your faithful shall bless you. They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, and tell of your power, to make known to all people your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
27
The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds
The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds. The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing.
28
The Lord is just in all his ways, and kind in all his doings
The Lord is just in all his ways, and kind in all his doings. The Lod is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of all who fear him; he also hears their cry, and saves them. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
29
My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh will bless his holy name for ever and ever.
30
SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 146
31
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Do not put your trust in princes, in mortals, in whom there is no help. When their breath departs, they return to the earth; on that very day their plans perish.
32
Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith for ever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free;
33
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The Lord will reign for ever, your God, O Zion,
34
for all generations. Praise the Lord. L: This is the Word of the Lord
for all generations. Praise the Lord! L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!
