COLOSSIANS 1:25-26 25 whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

COLOSSIANS 1:27-28 27 to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Please repeat after me: “I WAS SO GLAD - WHEN THEY SAID UNTO ME - LET US GO - INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD” (Psalm 122:1). We give praise, thanks and glory to God… We give thanks to the men that have gone before me…

THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The INTERNET and other Social Media (Col. 4:3; 1 Tim. 3:9; Eph. 6:19; Col. 1:26-27). Like Philip the evangelist (Acts 21:8; Eph. 4:11), I am one of God’s evangelist (Acts 6:5-6; 1 Cor. 13:8- 10; 2 Tim. 2:15). My service to God is to preach the “things concerning the kingdom of God (the church), and the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 8:12).
8
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
In this lesson we will make plain the qualifications for a preacher… Paul said: "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity" (1 Timothy 2:7).
9
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Paul used the word ORDAIN which means “to set, put, place, lay – divine appointment (2 Tim. 1:11; Matt. 24:51; 1 Pet. 2:8; Heb. 1:2; John 15:16).
10
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
“…gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ" (Eph. 4:11-13; 2 Peter 1:21; Eph. 3:1-5; 2:20).
11
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The word "pastor" means “shepherd” or “overseer” (Acts 20:28; 14:23; 1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). Evangelists can be young like me (1 Tim. 4:12; 1 Cor. 9:5).
12
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Preachers must preach with all authority. "These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee" (Titus 2:15). Women are NOT “to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence” (1 Tim. 2:11-12; 1 Cor. 14:33-34; Matt. 7:13-14; Prov. 30:6; Rev. 22:18-19; Rom. 11:22).
13
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The evangelist must speak boldly. “Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality" (1 Tim. 5:19-21).
14
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Evangelists have a specific work to perform. “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry” (2 Tim. 4:5). What is that work?
15
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:1-4).
16
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The END RESULT of the work. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20; Eph. 1:3).
17
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Rom. 8:28-29; Col. 1:26-27). Are you LISTENING?
18
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The Basis of the END RESULT (2 Cor. 3:18; Heb. 1:1- 2). “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe” (1 Thess. 2:13).
19
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Each of us must exercise our FREE WILL (Acts 2:41; 2 Pet. 1:3-4; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; John 12:48; Rev. 20:12-14).
20
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
“And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it” (Matthew 7:26-27).
21
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
"But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed" (James 1:25; 21; 1:21; Matt. 15:8-9; 1 Cor. 1:21-24).
22
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Some weak Gospel preachers are NOT living like Christ (1 Cor. 1:11-13; 3:3-9, 21-23; Gal. 5:17). My job – to help us to become ONE – “We can, IF I WILL!” (Acts 20:26). The preacher needs courage (1 Peter 2:8; Acts 7:54-58).
23
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
"In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren" (2 Corinthians 11:26).
24
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
ERRORS concerning the role of the preacher (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 8:4; Matt. 25:34-40; James 3:1; 1 Tim. 1:3; 2 Tim. 2:2). "For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee" (Titus 1:5).
25
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
The preacher must be an example. "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12).
26
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee” (1 Tim. 4:16).
27
THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
INVITATION: “But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women” (Acts 8:12; Matt. 16:18-19; Col. 1:13; Acts 2:38-41).
