A pure substance made up of only ONE KIND OF ATOM that cannot be divided by ordinary chemical means
Meaning, the nucleus stays intact during chemical reactions
Elements can only be divided/split by nuclear means.
This requires and releases a lot of energy = nuclear explosion!
