HW: Find the area of your 4 measured figures
Monday, 2/27/17 Write the IC and HW in your planner. IC: Ch. 8.4 Activity HW: Find the area of your 4 measured figures Materials Math folder 3 perimeter & area problems to grade Missing work you did over the break! 1 1 1 1 1 1
2
Bellwork Find the area of the whole composite figure. Hint…you need to figure out the length of the (?) sides first! 82 in b ? 30 in 40 in 40 in ? h Total 50 in 2080 in² 52 in Triangle + 600 in² Rectangle: A = ½ bh A = 2680 in² A = bh A = ½ (30)(40) A = 52(40) A = ½ (1200) A = 2080 in² A = 600 in²
3
Directions: Pick a figure outside. Sketch the figure
Measure all sides of the figure. Draw a line or two inside the figure to break it into all rectangles (or a triangles if needed) Repeat steps 1-4 until you have sketched 4 figures. Go sit down and start finding the total area of your 4 figures. Whatever you don’t finish is HW.

16
Find the diameter at 3 feet up from the ground.
Flagpole Find the diameter at 3 feet up from the ground.
17
Find the area. Ex. 5 Parallelogram A = bh A = 9(5) A = 45 in² Triangle
Total A = ½ (4)(3.5) 45 in² A = (2)(3.5) + 7 in² A = 7 in² A = 52 in²

Ex. 4 3 ft 4 ft 10 ft 4 ft 4 ft 8 ft 8 ft 8 ft 4 ft 19 – 4 = 15ft
