1. NJHS INTEREST MEETING 10/10/18 Make up meeting: 10/24/18

3. Requirements
All seventh and eighth grade students with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher are invited to join.
10 approved Community Service Hours (food bank, clothing drive, Science Fair workers, Elementary school events)
9 approved Personal/Characteristics Hours
NJHS members must maintain at least 91 of their 101 points with no major infraction either in or out of school

4. Deadlines
Members must complete their 19 hours by the spring deadline of April 19th 2019 to be inducted into membership
Induction Ceremony will be in May Hours earned prior to the official start of NJHS (such as community service done over the summer) can be used as long as an adult supervisor can sign off for the hours.
Commitment Form due November 3rd- required for all members old or new
Failures to submit Commitment Forms will result in denial of membership

5. Submission
All form submissions will be done through NJHS Website via Google Forms

6. Personal Characteristic hours
9 hours total are required for the year
9 hours must be divided throughout all 3 Trimesters, they DO NOT have to be divided EVENLY
All 9 hours should not be earned in a single Trimester
Examples: cross country practice, music lessons, school plays, ASB Leadership activities.
Tutoring hours during SCHOOL HOURS do not meet this criteria.

7. Community service hours
10 Community Service hours are required for the year
These hours can be earned anytime
Examples are: Food Banks, Clothing Drives, Science Fair Workers, Elementary School Events, etc

8. Student activity log
The log can be accessed through NJHS Connect website
Use this log as a paper copy of your hours
Do not submit this log to Mr. Christensen - use the Google forms
Keep this log as insurance and for your own records.

9. HOURS POSTING Submitted hours will be posted EVERY FRIDAY
Hours will be posted inside a BINDER inside the library
They will be organized by your STUDENT ID NUMBER
Please wait until FRIDAY to check your hours before ing Ms. Diep about how many hours were record.
