2. Click on Check Course Offerings

Click Search for Classes
Searching For Classes Click Search for Classes It might seem intimidating at first but it’s quite simple! It’s advised that you don’t get super specific with your search that way you get a lot of results to search through. However, you can get very detailed and fill out as much as you can if you are looking for a specific class. Here we just searched CJN – Communications and Journalism (subject) classes for the Fall 2015 semester (term).
19
Searching for classes and adding them to your wishlist
1. Click on Classes & Registration 2. Click on Register/Class Schedule on the submenu 3. Click on Search & Select to My Wishlist You will become very familiar with the Classes & Registration tab because this is what allows you to search for as well as put classes on your wishlist, manage your waitlist, search for textbooks, add/drop classes, check the final exam schedule, etc.

Searching for your classes & adding them to your wishlist
You will become very familiar with the Classes & Registration tab because this is what allows you to search for as well as put classes on your wishlist, manage your waitlist, search for textbooks, add/drop classes, check the final exam schedule, etc. Searching for and adding classes to your wish list is something that you will do on your own every semester. Search for the course like you learned how to do in the previous slide This time there will be a small box on the left hand side of the course name which you can click to select it When you have finished selecting the course(s) you are interested in you click submit at the bottom and they will be added to your wishlist When it is time for you to register for your classes you will log back into blackboard, click on classes and registration at the top of the screen, then click register/class schedule, and then this time click register for classes on my wishlist instead of search and select to my wishlist
21
Adding Classes to my Wishlist
This is how you select classes for your wishlist You can add as many classes to your wish list as you like. All you have to do is select the ones you want by clicking on the white boxes and scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking “submit.” The classes that you selected will automatically appear on your wishlist.
22
Managing your Wishlist
Drop Down Menu for Registering To view and manage your wishlist you go back to the Classes & Registration Tab and then click on the Register for Classes On My Wishlist tab on the far left column. Even if you’re not registering for classes at that moment, this tab allows you to see your wishlist. You will see that there is a drop down menu next to each class on your wishlist. This allows you to remove a class from your wishlist and put yourself on a waitlist if you didn’t get into one of the classes you wanted. The cool thing about this is that if you make your wishlist in advance (which is HIGHLY recommended) when it’s time to register all you do is go to each of the drop down menus and click on register then click “submit.” This makes it so much easier because all you’re doing is clicking and you don’t have to worry about stressful searching. Plus, if you added backups to your wishlist and you didn’t get into a specific class you can just register for your other class without any hassle. Click on Register for Classes on My Wishlist
23
Results when searching for CJN classes for Fall 2017
Keep this in mind when searching for classes After your search you will get a page that looks something like this. These are all of the CJN classes that are offered for the Fall 2015 semester (six pages worth!). Make sure to pay attention to the Available/Capacity/Waitlist column. If a class has less than five seats available you should definitely have a backup class just in case.
24
Add/Drop Classes Check the box next to the course(s) you wish to drop and click submit Adding and dropping classes is just as easy as managing your wishlist. Go to the Classes & Registration tab and then click on Search & Select to My Wishlist on the far left column of your MySuffolk portal. You will see your wish list and under that it shows the classes you are registered for. There is a column that lets you check the classes you want to drop then all you do is click submit: Remember that you can’t take more than seventeen credits so if you are fully registered you can’t add a class until you drop one. After you dropped the class you can follow the procedure to register for classes on your wish list. Remember that you need to be taking credits to be considered a fulltime student.
