Naming Ternary Ionic Compounds
(Naming Compounds Containing Polyatomic Ions) Ternary Ionic Compounds ~ contain atoms of three or more different elements ~ usually contain one or more polyatomic ions Ternary ionic compounds are named by writing the name of the cation followed by the name of the anion (usually a polyatomic ion, which keeps its group name)
