IN PRACTISE

Accommodation View: Here we can select what we want to see (see blue box at the top). Hotels themselves will be able to select their own establishment, their comparative set, or all establishments. The Administrator (you) will be able to select individual hotels as well as a number of other groupings (such as region, etc). Then select the date range you wish to view, and then the grouping (day, month or year), then click GO. The table on the left shows the RoR, RevPAR, Av Room Rate, Forward booking RoR, and number of people expected at events on that date. Obviously if the date range we are looking at is in the past, the forward booking RoR is less relevant, although interesting to compare to actual. Note at the bottom of the table we have the averages for Fri/Sat, Mon-Thu, and All Days. The graphs on the right hand side show the data in the table. There are two which makes it useful to make comparisons. At the moment they are showing the same data. If you have any other queries at this stage, hold on!! The next few slides will hopefully answer these!

Now we move onto the Comparative View page…let’s look at the blue box at the top first.
Now we can compare two sets…here Kates B&B and Kates Comparative Set. The table on the left shows the percentage point difference between the two data sets, and the graphs show the relevant data.

Accommodation: this is where actual data is entered into the system.

Tracker also allows you to compare two periods (month, quarter, year, etc) and, at a glance see what has gone up and down
