Evaluation and Eligibility within a MTSS Framework
Building a strong and comprehensive MTSS can impact eligibility in important and significant ways. Purposes of the Evaluation
To determine if the student is a student with an exceptionality AND To determine if the student has a need for special education services To determine if the student has a need for special education services AND To determine if the student is a student with an exceptionality Evaluations serve two primary purposes: One, to determine if a student has an exceptionality; and two, to determine if a student has a NEED for special education services.
