6 How does Extremadura face this challenge?
SPANISH STRATEGY ON ACTIVE AGING Silver economy Work environments of the active population: less globalized production? Adapted environment: Smart cities with intergenerational component Care patterns: Close-contact professionals with support from ICT and with an excellent ethical and human component? ICT use of 65+ people: less than 35% THE PREVENTION AND HEALTH PROMOTION STRATEGY OF THE SPANISH NHS Promoting on healthy life-styles and safe environments and behaviours in people aged 50 years old Prevent functional decline and promote health and emotional wellbeing in the population aged over 70 years old Spain is working on a National Strategy that is expected to be approved during This strategy will address two related central issues such as depopulation and aging. These aspects affect: • The consumption patterns of the elderly person: Silver economy? • Work environments of the active population: less globalized production and more focused on the surrounding environment? • The design of cities: Smart cities, adapted and in which integenerational is present. • Care patterns. Proximity professionals with support from ICT and with an excellent ethical and human component?

8 Take-home messages Users demand ICT for healthcare services
The development of new products/services must NOT only involve senior people Any product/service for active and healthy aging should cover the person needs from his/her autonomy Connecting people is important, but privacy must prevail Intergenerational perspective in a bidirectional way to address any content in a healthy and active aging
