ROUGE Pinot Noir STEINBACH – 2011 AOC Alsace This rich and full-bodied red wine is produced in the far south of Alsace, in the village of Steinbach, historically renowned for its high quality Pinot Noir (formerly called “Steinbacher Roda”, meaning Red [Wine] from Steinbach). With the right ripeness, this wine offers an excellent ageing potential. Soil Sandstone and Ferruginous soil. The vineyard is located in Steinbach, in southern Alsace. The vines are planted on south-east exposed slopes. Varietal Pinot Noir Farming Sustainable practices. Grapes are handpicked. Winemaking Maceration at least for 10 days at approximately 20°C. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. Maturing in oak barrels for at least 15 months. Tasting notes Color: Intense red. Nose: Intense black cherry and red berry fruits. Palate: Full-bodied and well-balanced. The acidity of 2010 vintage brings a hint of freshness to this rich and complex wine. Serving suggestion: Steinbach Pinot Noir pairs very well with red meats, game and strong cheeses. It is also delicious with lamb. Serving temperature: around 16°C .
