2 Objectives To create an Essential Question for the exit project research paper. To submit the Essential Question to engrade.

3 What is an Essential Question?
It is the step in between your preliminary and extensive notes. It will guide your extensive research It will link your 3 assigned or selected topics around a common theme. The EQ will be the title of your research paper.

4 How do you create an Essential Question???
Read the Essential Question page in your OVERVIEW PACKET for samples. Watch the video for tips: What was helpful from the video? What are questions you have about the video or EQ’s?

5 Independent Reading Flip to the following page in your packet or download the attachment from the class website: Creating an Essential Question. Read the page Write down any questions you have about the essential question.

6 Cooperative Learning Bring your laptop and project folder/packet to someone that is working on your same topic. Brainstorm 2 separate essential questions based upon your topic as either People Events Decisions Think about how your research/notes will connect to the essential question.

7 Independent Practice Submit your essential question to engrade according to the heading below: Await teacher feedback. The essential question will be below your heading: Size 12- Times New Roman Name Class Exit Project Date Essential Question: How have six people shaped the past, present and future state of the American Civil Rights Movement?
