1 RL 8.6 Analyze how differences in the points of view of the characters and the audience or reader (e.g., created through the use of dramatic irony) create such effects as mystery, suspense, tension or humor

2 Mystery A mystery story shows us the major event (murder, robbery, etc.) that has happened first and then we watch as the protagonist(s) solves the mystery of who did it, why they did it, and how they did it

3 Suspense Suspense is when the reader’s do not know as much as they do in a mystery story. We are on the edge of our seat the whole time

4 Tension When tension is created and used in a story it usually creates conflict and feelings of tension for the reader.

5 There can be different types of humor in stories
Some humor is normal, everyday, funny events Some humor is dark- events or ideas in stories that are twisted but presented with sarcasm. Thus, creating humor for the reader
