7 Classroom Expectations
Be on time. Come prepared for class. Respect your teacher and fellow classmates. HANDS BEFORE YOU TALK AND HANDS BEFORE YOU WALK! NO BULLYING!!! (No swearing, cruel teasing, rude gestures or put-downs, either verbal or non-verbal.)

Food and gum? Follow teacher’s instructions and always listen carefully when the teacher is talking to the class. ** I will also use a doorbell from time to time as well. Stay in designated areas. Remember your manners: Say please, thank you, and excuse me. No electronics unless instructed to use by the teacher.

10 Grading System 60% = Summative 10% = Daily Grade, Classwork, Homework
30% = Quizzes *Projects and Writing: Summative or Daily Grade

11 Major Things To Remember
Get breakfast and go straight to your A/A. You will be given restroom breaks throughout the day. You will not be allowed to leave the classroom without a pass.

12 Take regular showers/baths. Use deodorant. Brush your teeth.

What do you expect to learn this year in 8th grade ELA? What should students be doing to make sure our class runs as smooth as possible? School is important because ________________. Write answers on sticky notes and put on the corresponding chart paper.
