9 Here in this place new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away, see in this space our fears and our dreamings, brought here to you in the light of this day.

10 Gather us in, the lost and forsaken, gather us in the blind and the lame; call to us now, and we shall awaken, we shall arise at the sound of our name.

11 We are the young, our lives are a myst’ry, we are the old, who yearn for your face, we have been sung throughout all of hist’ry, called to be light to the whole human race.

12 Gather us in, the right and the haughty, gather us in, the proud and the strong; give us a heart so meek and so lowly, give us the courage to enter the song.

13 Here we will take the wine and the water, here we will take the bread of new birth, here you shall call your sons and your daughters, call us a new to be salt for the earth.

14 Give us to drink the wine of compassion, give us to eat the bread that is you; nourish us well, and teach us to fashion lives that are holy and hearts that are true.

15 Not in the dark of buildings confining, not in some heaven, light years away, but here in this place the new light is shining, now is the Kingdom, now is the day.

16 Gather us in and hold us forever, gather us in and make us your own; gather us in all peoples together, fire of love in our flesh and our bone.

17 *Opening Prayer Dear God, we are the young – our lives are a mystery, we are the old – who yearn for your face, we have been called to be light to the whole human race. As we celebrate our many freedoms in these United States we give thanks to you for making

18 freedom possible, remembering and giving thanks for those who have sacrificed their own lives and loved ones to keep our freedoms alive. Show us how to be your light in our world. We lift to you our nation’s political divisions, moral struggles, racial divides, drug wars, unrelenting poverty of body and soul,

19 and our own known and unknown participation in these troubles and trials.
Let your light so shine, show us the errors of our way. Make us new in your Holy Spirit. Let your light so shine, that we might truly praise and worship you, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

25 This is my song, O God of all the nations, a song of peace for lands afar and mine.
This is my home, the country where my hear is; here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine;

26 But other hearts in other lands are beating with hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

27 My country’s skies are bluer than the ocean, and sunlight beams on clover leaf and pine;
but other lands have sunlight too, and clover, and skies are everywhere as blue as mine.

28 O hear my song, thou God of all the nations a song of peace for their land and for mine.

29 This is my prayer, O Lord of all earth’s kingdoms: Thy kingdom come; on earth thy will be done.
Let Christ be lifted up till all shall serve him, and hearts united learn to live as one.

30 Oh hear my prayer, thou God of all the nations; myself I give thee; let thy will be done.

thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

34 but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

35 as it was in the beginning,

36 Scripture Reading Luke 10:1-11, 16-20 After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

37 3 Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ 6 And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you.

38 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the laborer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9 cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you. 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you,

39 go out into its streets and say,11 Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near. 16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”

40 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, in your name even the demons submit to us!” 18 He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning.19 See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you.

41 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

42 Sermon Listen. Go! Heal. Rejoice.

45 I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry
I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard My people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear My light to them? Whom shall I send?

46 Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord? I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.

47 I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have born my peoples pain
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have born my peoples pain. I have wept for love of them, They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak My word to them, Whom shall I send?

48 Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord? I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.

49 I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them, My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide, Till their hearts be satisfied. I will give My life to them, Whom shall I send?

50 Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord? I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.
