11. Spelling
Sitton Spelling: This program emphasizes the learning of important words, not for a test on Friday, but for a lifetime of spelling in the real world- spelling correctly in writing. Focuses on phonics, chunking words and patterns.
Take Home Tasks will be sent home regularly. They are skill building activities that complement the skills we’re working on in school.
Spelling pre-assessement is given each Monday. This assessment will create a list appropriate for your child. Their weekly list will be sent home Mondays with a “Dear Parents” letter outlining the skill we’ll be focusing on for the week.
Spelling post assessment will be given on Fridays.
