2. What is a Back-2-School Giveaway?
A community event where free school bags filled with school supplies are given out to families in the community 
The event usually happens in a financially challenged neighborhood 
Each school bag contains supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, erasers, rulers, etc. 
On average, 500 people attend the event.

3. What are some the benefits of this project?
It's a means of fulfillment of a Muslim's duty towards their neighbors and those in need
A very effective way to introduce and educate someone about our faith
Attracts many volunteers to become part of your human resources
It will help build a better relationship with the local Masajid and Muslim leadership
Attracts POSITIVE media attention for the Muslim community, as well as ICNA
It will help you build your human resources by working together in various stages and tasks

6. Location, Location, Location.
Having a proper location is
key to a successful event.
It is preferred that the facility is able to accommodate over 500 people at once
It is preferred that the facility represents Islamic values or has an Islamic presence (i.e. Masjid, Islamic Center, Islamic School, Community Center)

When and what time?
Pick a day in the weekend, in the month of August (the month before school starts)
The event should be for 2 hours, but 2 hours for preparation/setup and 1 hour for closing up should be adjusted to when you are booking your facility

As a chapter, you must get support for this project by the local Muslim community. Here, you must pull for financial and human resources. This is where a bulk of the volunteers should come from as well as the funding
You will have to utilize the fliers, posters and media presentations sent to you by ICNA Relief and distribute and market them to the local Muslim community, Masajid, MSAs,
and businesses

The target community is referred to the community that lives in a 1-5 mile radius of your facility. Usually, 95% of those are non-Muslims
You will have to utilize the fliers and posters sent to you by ICNA Relief and hand deliver fliers to community and put up posters accordingly on shops and businesses

11. Fund Raising & Sponsorships
Money matters
Each school bag with supplies costs ICNA Relief approximately $15 per bag 
Each chapter needs to have meaningful events planned, and help raise funds to balance off our costs.

12. Contacting Local Representatives
To attract media coverage and legitimize your event,
inviting a special guest to the event helps tremendously.
Try inviting your local Mayor, Dept. of Education, Police Commissioner, Fire Dept. or local celebrity
Let them give a few inspirational words at the beginning of the event and hand out the first few bags to the public

13. Bagging School Supplies
One of the hardest, yet enjoyable tasks of this project.
ICNA Relief will send you school bags and school supplies. The chapter must organize volunteers to put the supplies in each school bag. This process may take 2-8 hours depending on the number of school bags you will give away

14. The Todo List
Start publicizing project to Muslim community and raise funds and sponsorships
Try to get sponsorships from local businesses and orgs

15. Tentative Timeline 1-10 days before Giveaway do MARKETING
Marketing targeted neighborhood, distribute flyers
and put up posters in the surrounding neighborhoods
