He gives the small gifts, but only for good and obedient children

for naughty children

5. OUR TRADITION Nicolas is a very generous and fair old man.
On 5th December he goes from house to house together with an angel
and a devil and gives the
presents to good children.

6. Visit at home
The doorbell rings and children hide behind the skirts of their mothers. The are scared about the devil… But golden-haired angel and kind old man are smiling. This old man asks : Were you good or make you your mother angry ??? Children usually say: A little… Ok, if you sing song or recite poem, you can get some sweets. At the beginning the children are shy, but later they can do it and they get some presents.

7. Visit in square
The air is full of tension. Suddenly you can hear the sound of tubes. Saint Nicolas stays on an elevated stage and throws the sweets everywhere… The lollipops, candles and chewing gums are flying all around. But here is treason. There are devils among the ordinary people. If you weren't good, they put you into their big, smelly bag and carry you to the hell. But if you were good, sing a song or recite a poem, they will compliment you and take a picture with you.
