Blended families are formed when at least one of the recently married partners has a child / children from a previous marriage.

9. Same Sex Marriages
Same-sex marriage is the marriage of a same-sex couple
Same-sex marriage has been legal nationwide since the Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling in the Obergefell v. Hodges case. 
The decision came over a decade after Massachusetts became the first state to legalize same-sex marriage.
By 2015, 37 states recognized marriage equality.
