2 Introduction, definition and history
The perspective of authentic leadership is whether the leaders are genuine (Giuliani & Kurson, 2002). Earliest manifestations of the concept were in 1960s The concept of authentic leadership has gained more presence due to the publications of Bill George. It’s a leadership models that integrates self concept. A leader has to say what he means and mean what he or she says. Authentic leaders have been on a high demand due to failures of the more traditional approaches to leadership. Even though the field of authentic leadership could be seen budding from the transformational leadership, it was not researched as an independent topic. The differentiating element between transformational leadership and authentic leadership is in the inclusion of the self concept.

3 Perspectives of authentic leadership
Self awareness Transparency Balanced processing Well founded moral perspective An authentic leader has to be aware of his or her actions in order for him or her to attain authenticity. Relational transparency has to be maintained at all times. All issues ought to be handled in a consistent manner. Authentic leaders draw their genuine nature from moral stance that they take.

4 Operationalization of authentic leadership
Authentic leadership calls for the collaboration between the leaders and their followers. The calls for research indicate that the concept is still in the developmental stages. There is al element of transformational leadership in authentic leadership. Recent research has shifted to augmentation and evaluation. All leaders have to be able to convince and influence followers. For the authentic leaders, the same rule applies on a higher scale since the power vested in the individual by the virtue of the office may not suffice to create followers base. Therefore, transformational leaders have to create a more appealing and alluring approach to the issues such that they are perceived as authentic in all the quarters. Transparency is one of the ways of creating more followers.

5 Recommendations All leaders ought to be authentic (Tracy, 2014) .
Handling of emerging issues in business and public sector depends on the authenticity of the leaders. Authentic leadership ought to be mainstreamed into the common concepts on leadership. The authentic leaders must lead by example through the indication of moral perspective (Watson & Johnson, 2013) . Authentic leadership research ought to shift towards evidence based concepts. In order for the businesses to survive in the current conditions, they must maintain authenticity. Organizational authenticity depends on the leaders. Emerging issues such as globalization calls for the consistence more so when dealing with issues of ethical management of the resources.
