4 The muscles in his body relaxed Silence embraced the diver The diver sank The sinking was beneath the surface The surface was of the water He descended The descending was towards colour (color) The colour was of the world With his body relaxed silence his embraced the diver as he descended beneath the surface of the water towards a world of colour.

5 Lesson 1. Describe the 5 senses – what you see, feel, taste, hear, smell (most people only describe what they see) 2.Use small joining words when things happen at the same time

6 Isabella could no longer hear the cries The cries were from the baby Silence filled the air The silence was scary She ran quickly towards the family swimming pool She movement is desperate A silence filled the air scary as Isabella could no longer hear the cries of her baby and she ran desperately, towards the swimming pool.

7 Lesson 1.While this was only an example….it illustrates how you can put a message into your writing. For example pool safety 2. Silence is also a sound

8 Water hit the back of his throat His throat was dry The cyclist pushed ahead The cyclist willed his muscles to do the impossible The water did little to satisfy his thirst The direction was towards the finish line With the water doing little to satisfy his thirst, the cyclist willed his muscles to do the impossible, pushing ahead towards the finish line.

2. By making the reader wonder what will happen you can create tension

12 The clouds are moving The moving is in The in is towards the camp grounds The clouds are dark Concern is evident Danger is real The concern is amongst the campers Pattern: with, phrase, ing, With the clouds moving in dark towards the camp grounds, concern was evident amongst the campers, the danger real.

2. Adding a phrase to the middle of a sentence shows that you are an advanced writer
