Section B – The Options Explain why some people argue that new settlements are the most sustainable way of solving Britain’s housing crisis, whilst others believe that making existing settlements more sustainable is the better option (10) This type of question is easy to get ‘lost’ in, both in the reading of the question and the answer. You need to pick out what the examiner wants. So: 1. Explain why new settlements are the most sustainable solution (SEE) Use examples of stakeholders with this viewpoint. Explain why developing existing settlements are the most sustainable solution (SEE)
