Thursday SRI Testing in Library
As we walk to the library I expect you to be silent. In the library you are to be silent. No food or drinks! Raise your hand to get my attention. Take all of your belongings with you. We are going to the computers on the main floor. You will login to SRI using your student ID and their birth date; two digits for month and day and four digits for year When you finish testing, raise your hand, and I will write down your score. As always, try your best and take your time.

Bring a notebook for your writer’s comp. You will get back your Julius Caesar Exam You can revise your essay OR keep the grade (please turn into blue box if you are not revising)

[5 minutes] Vocabulary:
CO: SWD understanding of transcendentalist text by describing response to guided questions. LO:SW write an explanation of an aphorism using a flow map. [5 minutes] Vocabulary: Live after the world’s opinion—make decisions based on what others say Out upon your guarded lips!—you don’t have to be careful about what you say Providence—spiritual power/God Genius--- spirit of a place or time Betray---revealed a secret/something personal Conspiracy—agreement to do something bad Conformity--- agreeing to customs and rules Consistency--- past and present thoughts coming together Aphorism ---short saying/original thought [ 30 minutes] Reading pg : Guiding questions as we read Aphorism flow map: find an aphorism in “Self-Reliance” and show it’s meaning (the layers of meaning) through a flow map
