2. Direct Quotations
Use a set of quotation marks to enclose the EXACT words a person says.
EX: Lauren said, “I brought your lunch.”
EX: “She left it on the desk,” Jim whispered.

You must include the following components in a direct quotation:
1. Exact words being quoted
2. Quotation marks “ ”
3. Speaker and how he/she said it
4. Comma or commas
