Attended Spelman College After school, she moved to Mississippi to continue her work with the Civil Rights movement. Works deal with the lives of African American women and their experiences throughout history and in the modern world Works reflect pride in her heritage and the culture of her people Published The Color Purple in 1982

Hyperbole Figure of speech that involves an exaggeration of ideas for the sake of emphasis. Examples: My grandmother is as old as the hills. Your suitcase weighs a ton! She is as heavy as an elephant! I am trying to solve a million issues these days.
