What is Absolutism? Definition: A system in which a ruler holds total power. Did not have to answer to anyone but God Divine Right Rulers received their power from God I answer to God, not my subjects!

Centralization of power Kings and Queens gained more power after the Reformation Church lost power=More power for kings Middle Class supported Monarchs Promised a good climate for business Colonies allowed Monarchs to live frivolous lives.
