Legalized in 29 states for medical use while 8 of those legalized recreational use as well.
Out of 9 states this election, 8 of them voted to legalize it
Depending on political views of media source, will determine their stance on this issue.

3. Media Bias Conservative Media, like Fox, is typically anti-marijuana
Reasons against- it’s a gateway drug, it’s addictive, Amsterdam is seeing their children more exposed, and it’s harmful.
When reporting, they are more fiercely against it and not afraid to show their stance.

4. Media Bias
Liberal outlets like The New York Times and CNN tend to support the legalization
Reasons for support- Police spend thousands of hours and dollars on arresting and maintaining those who possess/use weed, racial profiling, medical benefits, less harmful than tobacco and alcohol.
However, they aren’t as passionate for it and remain more professional when reporting on this subject.

5. Leadership
Both sides are fighting for their respective sides. However, there is no one single leader for either side but rather groups taking on this role
Pro-Legalization- National Cannabis Industry Association and others
Anti-Legalization- Religious groups, police unions, and prisons
