A graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Dowling College, & College of Saint Rose Have been/currently am a: Middle School Football Coach, Basketball Coach, Varsity Badminton Coach, Extended Essay Mentor, Dean of Students. Pre-IB/AP World History 9 prepares students for the opportunity to take higher level history courses as they progress through their high school career. At the completion of Pre-IB/AP World History 9, the content and skills learned will provide students with the opportunity to participate in AP World History 10 and possibly earn college credit during their sophomore year. Or, they may choose to enroll in Global History 10 Pre-IB to continue their preparation for IB History in grade 11 and 12.

7 Global History & Geography 2-Regents
Global History 2R is a survey course that focuses on history around the world from early 21st century. It will culminate in 2 Regents exams taken in June that will cover that time period while assessing skills that they learned last year. 2 Formats of the Test and the higher grade will be utilized in calculating your child’s final course average

8 How are students assessed?
Multiple assessments are used each marking period which include: -Two Tests – 20% each -Quizzes – 20% -Homework – 15% -Class Participation – 5% -Authentic Assessment - 20% -Writing pieces may include such items as Comparative Essays, Continuity and Change Essays, Document Based Questions, and other authentic assessments.

9 Common Questions and Answers
When is my extra help? -Extra help is available Wednesday mornings & afternoon officially but….. What is the best way to make contact? -I respond quickest when ed but will be timely when phoned. When should we expect to see grades posted on the parent portal? -Once an assignment is graded, information will be posted to the parent portal. It will vary based upon the contents of the assignment. How can I help my student prepare for class? -Since this is a completely new experience, some of the best tools to help them is reassurance, redirection, and reflection.
