Concurrent Enrollment Quick Fact Sheet
College courses are a semester in length but students will receive a full unit for the 1 semester course. In Oklahoma it is required that college courses taken while in high school be included on the high school transcript and included in the high school gpa. Students taking 1 TCC course each semester may show it in their high school schedule 2 class periods. 2 TCC courses would be 3 class periods in their HS schedule. Students must be able to arrive at the high school or their TCC course on time even on early release days. Pay attention to the amount of drive time needed. TCC courses are at the expense of the student/parent. Tuition is waived for 2 courses each semester but fees/books must be paid directly to TCC by the student/parent either in the bursar’s office or online on the student’s MYTCC account. Most General Ed Freshman level courses will transfer easily to an Oklahoma Public College. Important Information
The student’s high school schedule/requests will not be adjusted in Powerschool until the student submits a copy of their TCC schedule (given to them by the TCC enrollment center) to their high school counselor. Students should let their counselor know which courses they would still like to attend at the high school and can write it out on their TCC schedule. Many student’s forget to do this before schedule pick up and end up waiting in a long line! Be proactive! You may a copy of your TCC schedule to your counselor if it is more convenient. Please contact your student’s counselor if you have any additional questions. Thank you!
