1 Network Partner Symposium
STRONGER TOGETHER Network Partner Symposium NOVEMBER 13th - 14th, 2018 MAUMEE BAY LODGE & CONFERENCE CENTER

2 Independents Fiber Network Service Portfolio (Existing & Planned)

3 Meet the Panel Nathan Zehringer (Transport Department Manager) discussing Equipment Right of Use Leases, Managed Fiber, Dark Fiber Leasing & Colocation Randall Webb (Senior Network Engineer) discussing ETS/Enhanced E-ETS & DWDM Cory Haessler (NOC Manager) discussing IP-PBX & Managed WiFi Aaron Holtz (GM Broadband Operation Services) discussing Hosted/Managed Firewall , SD WAN & VMs for private hosting of third party software apps in a hybrid private-public cloud environment

4 Equipment Right of Use Leases
Equipment Right of Use Lease – is an arrangement where we maintain title to optronics equipment, but give rights to partner companies to use the equipment to terminate local services. (e.g. GigEPAC Broadband Service Arrangement)

5 Equipment Right of Use Leases
Our current arrangements allow for our partners to utilize the ports of the equipment at a discounted rate in exchange for space to house the equipment that is utilized by GigEPAC group for managed backhaul network.

6 Equipment Right of Use Leases
This right of use lease allows for our integrated network partners to receive compensation for services that are terminated on these ports, as well. (e.g. jointly provisioned services & NNI with other carriers)

7 Equipment Right of Use Leases
STATUS UPDATE: GigEPAC Broadband Service Provider Agreements were set in place at the onset of the BTOP project in Most initial terms will be up in 2020 with subsequent terms of two years thereafter.

8 Managed Fiber Managed Fiber solution is where we provide and manage the equipment (switches & optics) to light your dark fiber or leased fiber network.

9 Managed Fiber Our managed fiber solution allows for our customers to light and utilize their fiber network and get the added benefit of having their network monitored by our Network Operations Center. This empowers customers to get the most out of their fiber network facilities.

10 Managed Fiber Our managed fiber solution can work for both customers that understand networks (e.g. City of Miamisburg) or that simply just want their facilities lit to get use out of their fiber assets. (e.g. Wittenberg University)

11 Dark Fiber Leasing & Colocation
Dark fiber provides for the ultimate control over security, growth, latency, and service configuration. We structure our leases with flexible terms and payment options that allow for us to accommodate our customer’s needs.

12 Dark Fiber Leasing & Colocation
These leases can be limited access between two specific locations, or they can be wide ranging fiber leases that have multiple mid-span interconnection points.

13 Dark Fiber Leasing & Colocation
Colocation arrangements can be made along side fiber leases or IRUs and for offsite network needs. We have over 40 points-of-presence along our network that allow us to provide convenient colocation services at strategic points along our network.

14 Dark Fiber Leasing & Colocation
Our dark fiber and colocation services allow customers to have a cost-effective way of scaling bandwidth and securing colocation points that serve their networking needs.

15 Ethernet Transport Service
Enhanced Ethernet Transport Service Ethernet over DWDM COST Ethernet transport services can reduce your capital expense and operation expense in the following ways. Due to ethernet's broad usage in almost all networking products, the ethernet equipment itself is relatively inexpensive compared to other technologies. Ethernet services often cost less than TDM based services due to this lower equipment, service and operational costs. Ethernet services allow for finer incremental control over bandwidth rates allowing customers to purchase what they need. FLEX ### Many Ethernet services allow subscribers to network their business in ways that are either more complex or impossible with alternative services. Multiple services on a single ethernet interface using vlan tagging. Sub rate ethernet services generally allow for bandwidth upgrades to be completed quicker then their tdm counterparts as it is generally a logical change to a rate limit

16 Ethernet Transport Service
ETS simply defined is any transport between Customer Equipment using ethernet ports Define what ETS and a few acronyms mean

18 Components of Ethernet Transport Service
EVC(Ethernet Virtual Circuit) UNI Ports that usually act as demarcation point for customer and provider 100mb, 1gb,10gb, 25gb, 40gb,100gb, 400gb, etc. Services that connect two or more UNI ports together over the provider Network E-Line (point-to-point) E-LAN (multipoint-to-multipoint) E-Tree(rooted multipoint) Ports 100mb,gigabit,10gigabit,25gig,40gig,100gig

19 Types of EVCs E-Line Service between two UNI ports
EPL(Ethernet Private Line) EVPL(Ethernet Virtual Private Line) EPL EVPL VLAN Bundling

20 Types of EVCs E-LAN Mesh Service between 3 or more UNIs
EP-LAN(Ethernet Private LAN) EVP-LAN(Ethernet Virtual Private LAN) ELAN VS EVLAN

21 Rooted Multipoint service that forces all traffic to a single UNI
Types of EVCs E-Tree Rooted Multipoint service that forces all traffic to a single UNI EP-Tree EVP-Tree uses for companies with a spine/leaf design

22 Enhanced Ethernet Transport Service
Mixing DIA/L3 services with Transport on the same UNI port Talk up flexibility in our service offering. DIA/managed services mixed with transport on the same ports

23 Dedicated bandwidth across provider Network
Ethernet Over DWDM Dedicated bandwidth across provider Network PROS dedicated bandwidth resilient to MEN switching issues CONS Unprotected Path only Protection requires purchasing two

24 Underlying Carrier Ethernet Transport Technologies
Ethernet over Carrier-Ethernet Transport (CET) MPLS-TP, PBB, PBB-TE,ELS Ethernet over DWDM Transponder, Muxponder, OTN Switching Ethernet over MPLS ELS=Ethernet Label Switching VPWS, VPLS, EVPN Ethernet over SONET Generic Framing Procedure

25 Hosted IP-PBX

26 Service Options Fully hosted and managed Fully hosted customer-managed
Customer hosted provider-managed Hybrid of any of the above

27 Networking Complete L2 connections Over the public Internet
Private SIP peers to local carriers Added VLAN to existing ELAN or new ELAN Over the public Internet SIP peer to LD carrier over the Internet SIP peers to local carrier over the Internet

28 Cost Model Hardware – Lease or Capital
Adapting to current ecosystem All new phones Transport + Lines + Licensing + LD minutes = $ Discounts on existing ELAN service or bundled in ELAN Volume discounts

29 Managed Wi-Fi

30 Service Options Provider hosted Customer hosted
Only provider managed available

31 Networking Transport against existing ELAN L2 transport for management
P2P VPN for management Max of 4 SSIDs VLANs supported

32 Cost Model Hardware based on coverage area Lease or Capital
Coverage area x $ per SqFt. = MRC
