2. Adjectives Adjectives are used to add more to the meaning of a noun.
They can be placed before nouns or after certain verbs like ‘to be’, ‘look’, ‘appears’.

3. Types of Adjectives Descriptive Adjectives
- Tell us more about the shape, size, colour of the noun.
Example:
a) The blue bird.
b) The big blue bird.

4. Fill in the blanks with an appropriate descriptive adjective.

Adjectives of Quantity
- Tell us the amount or number of things.
- Answers the question ‘How much?’ (uncountable) or ‘How many?’ (countable)
Example:
a) There are many grains of rice.
b) There is a little rice.

- Used to ask questions.

Demonstrative Adjectives
- Point out the nouns they are used with.

Distributive Adjectives
- Show that the persons or things denoted by the nouns are taken singly or as a group.
Example:
a) Each child has a lollipop.
b) All the children have lollipops.
