INTRODUCTION Microsoft corporation is an American multinational software corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of products and services related to computing. the company was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, Microsoft is the world's largest software maker measured by revenues. it is also one of the world's most valuable companies. As of 2013, Microsoft is market dominant in both the pc operating system and office suite markets (the latter with Microsoft office). The company also produces a wide range of other software for desktops and servers, and is active in areas including internet search (with bing), the video game industry (with the xbox and xbox 360 consoles, and the upcoming xbox one console), the digital services market (through msn), and mobile phones (via the windows phone OS). In June 2012, Microsoft announced that it would be entering the pc vendor market for the first time, with the launch of the Microsoft surface tablet computer.

Paul Allen and Bill Gates, childhood friends with a passion in computer programming, were seeking to make a successful business utilizing their shared skills they founded their first company named traf-o-data, which offered a rudimentary computer that tracked and analysed automobile traffic data.

Microsoft office is a powerful suite of applications that can assist you in many projects and business applications. you can write letters, prepare presentations, maintain records etc, with the help of various tools available in the Microsoft office. Ms-office was introduced way back in later on developments were made and the modified version Ms-office was launched in Later in 1997 an advanced version of its Ms-office-97 was launched. Later on further modifications were made and Ms-office 2000, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 was launched. Ms-word is a “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG) program which means that the user can see all font and graphics on the screen exactly as they will print out.

Microsoft word Word processing is the term used to describe the creation/editions of letters, balance sheets, reports etc. word processing package offers many advantages to the creation and revision of documents when compared to handwritten or typed documents. Speed is primary advantage. Microsoft word's native file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension. Ms-word software package is quit flexible and easy to use. It is most popular word processor. Due to large number of features this software is used by most of the people now a days.
