Suggested by a legitimate power or decision-maker Punishment for resisting change Supportive attitude Change is necessary Trust in leadership Reject The change is not necessary The change is not feasible The change is not cost effective Personal loss will result from change Change is inconsistent with values Leaders not trusted

5 How to help implement change
Create a sense of urgency Communicate clearly Identify supporters and detractors Build a coalition for the change Fill key positions with change agents Use task force to implement change Empower competent people Make dramatic and symbolic changes that affect work Explain how change will affect people Help people deal with change Provide opportunities for early successes Monitor progress Keep people informed Keep optimistic

6 Definition of Vision: Can be in the form of mission statement, strategic objective, value, or slogan.
