4 Q Key Findings Global unemployment levels remain low, with 25 of the 49 countries analyzed in this report showing levels of 5.0 percent or less, which is considered by many economists as at or near full employment. This is a slight improvement over Q findings. Only four of the 49 countries analyzed in this report have announced increases in national unemployment rates, while three reported no change in the rate. The remaining 42 countries all showed declining unemployment, nearly all of which were double digit point changes when compared to 2Q 2017. North America and APAC report solid economic growth in the first quarter of 2018, Latin America’s growth was inconsistent across countries while EMEA experienced comparatively slower growth than other regions. But despite overall optimism for solid growth across the regions examined, the ongoing trade negotiations and possible tariffs have increased uncertainty about continued worldwide economic expansion.
