Frontier Life Movement was started as early as the Proclamation of 1763 for land. Frontier Problems Loneliness, Poor, Not enough supplies, Threat of Indian Raids Why Move west? Get away from constant threats of being poor. Chance to make money Getting too populated in the East.

Immigration Irish-Catholic
Moved because of constant oppression from the English Potato Blight of 1845 pushed many immigrants to the US with the promise of gold. No room in Europe Estimates show that 3,818,766 Irish came to the US from Most Irish immigrants came with only the clothes on their back and did not have any money. Stayed on the Eastern Sea board- New York, Boston, and Chicago became major stops.
