This project will incorporate many standards in a fun and engaging way
It will get the children excited about learning

All the moons features (what it would be like to visit)
The phases of the moon
What astronauts do to prepare for a visit to the moon
And much more!

4. Planetarium Visit
Our class will take a trip to the planetarium early on in the project
The students will have had a brief introduction to the moon and space before this visit
The field trip will get them excited and give them some background knowledge for the project

The field trip will get them excited to learn more about the moon
It will give them some hands on experience and background knowledge for the project

6. Phases of the Moon Project
The children will learn about the phases of the moon with a fun activity
They will learn why the moon looks like it does at each stage

7. Phases of the Moon Details
For this project the children will be using Oreos to depict what the moon looks like at each stage
They will glue the Oreos onto a paper plate and label each stage
This will be a fun and engaging way to teach them the phases of the moon

8. Play
At the end of this project the children will put on a play about going to the moon
In the play the children will show off what they learned about the moon to their friends and family who attend
They will create the script and the play themselves which will help reinforce everything that they learned

9. Play Details
They will be in charge of creating the script, costumes, props, and stage.
They will delegate who does what.
This will give them life skills on group work and will reinforce everything they learned during the “Trip to the Moon” project
