TEACHER: Ask students to observe the picture. Elicit vocabulary (dog, couch). Ask “Where’s the dog?”
Show the answer on the slide “The dog is on the couch.”, emphasizing the preposition ON. Ask them to read the sentence after Now, you!
and use their own material to show what’s written in the sentence. Check the students’ work by asking a student to come to the front and show what he/she did.

Accept students’ answers even in L1. Proceed with the slide presentation and show the correct answer, emphasizing across from. Ask them to do what is written in the sentence. Probably they’ll notice that they already are across from you.
