What We’re Learning
Reading
We will not be starting a new story this week. Instead, we will be focusing on different fun stories and doing some projects with each one.
Language Arts
We will learn about the special verb ‘be’, helping verbs, and irregular verbs. Our verb summative will be next week.
Math
We will continue to focus on our multiplication facts this week. We will test the 9s and maybe the 10-12s.
Practice at home with flash cards will help you child succeed on these tests.
Science &
Social Studies
Science – we will continue the Social and Group Behavior unit.
Social Studies – we will begin learning about the Revolutionary War after Holiday Break.

What We’re Learning
Reading
We will read a biography called Young Thomas Edison. Our story skills are: main idea/details, sequencing, summarizing, and shades of meaning.
Language Arts
We will learn about irregular verbs and contractions. We will review the chapter and take the verb summative on Thursday.
Math
We will begin our first division chapter. We will model division, make equal groups, use bar models, and relate subtraction to division.
Science &
Social Studies
Science – we will begin our next unit called Social and Group Behavior.
Social Studies – we will take our Colonial Life Summative on Friday.
