BIBLICAL INERRANCY Jesus and
“…And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.” --Luke 24:27
2
What do YOU believe about the Bible?
Two Views Contrasted Liberal, Modernistic View Traditional, Conservative View Bible true in whole but NOT all parts True in whole and in all parts True spiritually, but NOT historically True spiritually and historically True morally but NOT scientifically True morally and scientifically True in intentions but NOT in all affirmations True in intention and ALL affirmations Bible is one instrument of revelation Bible is intrinsically a revelation Human language is inadequate Human language is adequate Much “higher criticism” accepted NONE of higher criticism accepted Faith is opposed to reason Faith is consistent with reason Bible: “word of God, but not inerrant” Word of God, infallible & inerrant!
3
Here’s the problem with the liberal approach:
Jesus! Jesus affirmed the very passages that higher criticism calls errors! Jesus expected the reality of what they saw to prove the reality of what they couldn’t see That He was a teacher from God” (John 3:12) That He could forgive sins (Mark 2:9-11)

Jesus & the Word Jesus is the Truth John 14:6
Jesus is Judge of Man Matthew 25:31-32 Jesus is sinless & infallible John 8:46 Believe on Jesus to be saved Acts 16:31 His Word is Truth John 6:63; 17:17 His Word will judge John 12:48; Rev.20:12 His Word is Infallible John 10:35 2Tim.3:16 Believe on Jesus through Word John 17:20
5
What did JESUS Believe? A literal creation Mark 13:19
A real Adam & Eve Matthew 19:4-5 Noah & the Flood Matthew 24:37-39 Sodom & Gomorrah Luke 10:12 Jonah & Great Fish Matthew 12:39-41 ALSO… Moses wrote the Law John 7:19 Isaiah wrote ALL of Isaiah John 12:38-41
6
The whole idea of a perfect book is no more inconsistent than a perfect man.
If God can blend the human with the Divine, without human imperfections of sin; then God can put His Divine message in book form, without human imperfections, corruptions, or omissions. If God can give us a perfect man, then God can give us a perfect book!

Summary of what Jesus taught about the Holy Scriptures:
Authority Matthew 22:36-39 Reliability Matthew 26:54 Finality Matthew 4:4,7,10 Sufficiency Luke 16:31 Indestructibility Matthew 5:17-18 Unity Luke 24:44 Clarity Luke 24:27 Historicity Matthew 12:40 Factuality (scientifically) Matthew 19:2-5 Infallibility John10:35 INERRANCY Matthew 22:29 John 3:12; :17

What about the New Testament?
Jesus promised future additional teaching: “But the Comforter… will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance” John 14:26 “…when the Spirit of truth will come, He will guide you into all truth…” John 16:13 The apostles wrote the New Testament Ephesians 3:3,4 1 Corinthians 2:12,13 Paul’s writings called “Scripture” by Peter 2 Peter 3:15-16 Luke’s writings quoted by Paul as Scripture! Luke 10: Timothy 5:18 Therefore the same rules apply!

Which is it? Either Jesus Christ was mistaken
Here’s the point: Either Jesus Christ was mistaken (and therefore not the Son of God) or the Bible is inerrant! Which is it?
