BASIC DRIVER LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
VISION TEST: 20/50 VISION WITH OR WITHOUT CORRECTIVE LENSES WRITTEN REQUIREMENT: 80% (40 OF THE 50 QUESTIONS MUST BE ANSWERED CORRECTLY)

VISION 90% OF YOUR DECISIONS ARE BASED ON WHAT YOU SEE
VISUAL ACUITY – ability to see clearly FIELD OF VISION – see ahead & to your right and left AREA OF CENTRAL VISION – clearest in a narrow beam directly in front of you PERIPHERAL VISION – angles to the right and left

VISION (cont’d) DEPTH PERCEPTION – gives 3-dimensional perspective to objects DISTANCE JUDGMENT – estimating distance between yourself and an object COLOR BLINDNESS – unable to tell the difference between red & green, blue & yellow

TEST VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE A VALID PERMIT & BE ACCOMPANIED BY A LICENSED DRIVER VALID INSPECTION STICKER VALID REGISTRATION VALID INSURANCE CARD

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROAD TEST
VEHICLE MAY NOT HAVE ANY OBSTRUCTIONS OR CONSOLES THAT PREVENT THE EXAMINER FROM REACHING THE FOOT OR PARKING BRAKE

ROAD TEST OFF- ROAD TEST AREA OR ON A PUBLIC ROAD COURSE
MAKE CERTAIN YOU UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF THE ROAD AND CAN DRIVE SAFELY IF YOU FAIL THE ROAD TEST – YOU MUST WAIT 2 WEEKS BEFORE TAKING THE TEST AGAIN
