Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his needs, is good for him. —Maya Angelou

2 MPMS Summer Reading Requirement
You are required to read a minimum of two books this summer. At least ONE book must come from this list; for your second choice, you may either use the list or choose independently. Our professional staff has compiled a meaningful selection which covers a wide range of topics and issues. All parents are encouraged to help their child make a suitable selection. 11 Before, During, & After Reading
Create a reading schedule - 1 book per month. Write post-its or take notes on good ideas and questions you have while reading. Talk to your parents/guardians, siblings, and/or friends about the books you are reading. Be ready to discuss and write about your books when you enter your 6th grade ELA class in the fall.

12 Enjoy your reading! We look forward to meeting you in 6th grade,
as you enter into the MPMS community of readers and writers!
