Panelist: Brian Calvary, CAE Currently: Manager of CHRE Engagement HR People + Strategy, SHRM’s executive network Formerly: Membership Director Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA) Brian Calvary, CAE, is the Manager of CHRE Engagement for HR People + Strategy, SHRM’s executive network. HR People + Strategy is the premier network of executives and thought leaders in the field of human resources. Prior to joining HR People + Strategy, he was the Membership Director at the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA). At the GWSCPA, Brian developed and implemented membership recruitment and retention strategies. Brian is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), where he served as Chair of the Membership Development Committee from , and currently volunteers on the Membership Section Council. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media, and a Master’s degree in Media & Public Affairs from the George Washington University. Panelist: Elizabeth Weaver Engel, M.A., CAE CEO and Chief Strategist Spark Consulting LLC Elizabeth Weaver Engel, M.A., CAE, is CEO and Chief Strategist at Spark Consulting LLC. Elizabeth has more than eighteen years of experience helping associations grow, in membership, marketing, communications, public presence, and especially revenue, which is what Spark is all about. She speaks and writes frequently on a variety of topics in association management. When she's not helping associations grow, Elizabeth loves to dance, listen to live music, cook, and blog about the Philadelphia Eagles. 2015 SHRM VOLUNTEER LEADERS' SUMMIT

Panelist: Melody (Mel) Jordan-Carr Sr. Director, Member Relations ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership Melody A. Jordan-Carr is the senior director of member relations of ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. In her role, she is responsible for member recruitment, engagement and retention; volunteer management; development and direction of membership initiatives; and exploration of membership strategies. She serves as the senior liaison for ASAE’s Membership Section Council, the Membership Development Committee, and the Young Professional Committee. Jordan-Carr began her association career working on the production side of marketing and communications. Prior association experience includes working with the National Society of Black Engineers focusing on editorial, marketing and other communication functions; ASAE's Foundation, managing various research projects; The National League of Cities, managing membership and marketing efforts; and the Society of American Military Engineers, directing membership and volunteer initiatives. Prior to her association experience, Jordan-Carr worked in the newspaper industry. During her tenure at the Washington Post her work experience ranged from support to several columnists, editorial departments, to IT support in the systems and engineering division. After her experience in the newspaper industry, she worked for several private sector companies but discovered career happiness when she found her calling in the association industry. Jordan-Carr has a MS in Management with a concentration in Nonprofit and Association Management. She has published articles in newspapers, magazines and the web. Her personal interests include ballet, reading, and Wonder Woman comics. She resides in Upper Marlboro, MD with her husband Steven, two daughters and dog. 2015 SHRM VOLUNTEER LEADERS' SUMMIT

SHRM Staff: Chantal Rotondo Manager of Membership Acquisition Marketing Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Chantal Rotondo is SHRM’s Manager of Membership Acquisition Marketing and is responsible for acquiring more than 50,000 new professional members for SHRM each year. She has participated in many of the Membership Marketing Summits discussing both acquisition and retention with volunteer leaders. She’s been at SHRM for 9 years and was previously at the American Resort Development Association in the Membership, Meetings and Foundation departments. A Boston native and Washington DC area resident for 15+ years, she moved to Colorado in 2014 and loves being a remote employee with SHRM. 2015 SHRM VOLUNTEER LEADERS' SUMMIT

SHRM Staff: Laurie McIntosh, SHRM-SCP, CAE Director of Membership & Member Programs Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Drawing from 15+ years as an HR practitioner with industry experience in health care, consumer packaged goods and banking, Laurie relates to the needs of HR professionals because she’s lived it. Prior to joining SHRM in 2008 she was an active volunteer leader at the chapter and state level in Nebraska including the chapter president of a super mega chapter and NE state council director. She now works at SHRM headquarters in Alexandria, VA. She received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Capella University and holds both SHRM-SCP (SHRM Senior Certified Professional) and CAE (Certified Association Executive) designations. 2015 SHRM VOLUNTEER LEADERS' SUMMIT
