6. Mason as part of a regional transportation system
Mason completed transportation master plan in
Plan on how to support university master plan until 2020
Involved representatives from across the University
Involved transportation staff and political leaders from City of Fairfax, Fairfax County, and VDOT
Many projects that came out of the master plan, including:
Campus Drive
$15 million funding came from VDOT
Connects east and west campuses, goes underneath Rt.123
Decreases traffic on Braddock Rd by up to 25% at peak
