Writing Task 2/3 Have students read Handout One: Prohibition and Handout Three: Harlem in the Jazz Age. After reading these handouts and listening to Louis Armstrong’s music, students should write a one-page summary of the arts and culture of the era. In Ch. 1 of the novel, is Fitzgerald’s depiction of the Jazz Age consistent with what you have learned? Why or why not?
