2. Reminder: what makes the 2014 monitoring round different from the 2012 round?
DPs report at country level to promote country ownership ….. => More likely that data are used locally & mutual accountability is strengthened
Reduced transaction costs – fewer indicators, exploring publicly available data sources …. But?
Data collation (existing data and existing modalities); => global reporting to align with country cycles
Framework combines IHP+ and GPEDC indicators. => working closely with OECD to build on experience in GPEDC monitoring (2013)

3. What is being monitored?
Six issues as agreed by IHP+ signatories:
Health development cooperation is focused on results
Health development cooperation is more predictable
Health aid is on budget
Civil society is engaged
Mutual accountability is strengthened
PFM systems are strengthened and used

4. Which countries participate?
25 IHP+ partner countries, including Cambodia

5. Which DPs participate?
No complete picture yet on which DPs are participating
But in each country MoH has made contact with the DPs / stakeholders (or planned to do so)
Partial information suggests a range from 5 to 14 DPs per country
Some countries include NGOs (if providing funds to the sector)

6. Data collation & country support
Tools developed & shared with all countries
Most countries have started data collation
Overall good progress but slower in 10 countries
DRC, Mali and Sierra Leone have opted to be ‘focus countries’ with more intense support over next 6 months, beyond just data collation
Challenge: timeframe to be adapted

How to facilitate effective dissemination of results and use of data, within countries and in agencies?
The more country-based approach being taken this time is new. But early signs are that these are steps in the right direction. Any feedback on the process?
