ACTS 2:22-24, 36 A Pointed Accusation
Acts 2:38 Repent & Be Baptized Baptism now saves Washes away sin Clothe self with Christ Buried with Him Washing of regeneration “What shall we do?” Recognized their guilt and sought a remedy There is so much more to baptism than merely being “dunked”

Clearly Baptism Is A Command That Must Be Obeyed; But It Involves Much More Than Simply “Covering The Basis” 3 “G’s” Of Baptism… Give: Something must be given on the part of the individual Get: The individual must receive some thing in return Grow: Inasmuch as baptism is a “birth”, there must be growth pressing to maturity
3
SOMETHING MUST BE GIVEN…
“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time.” 1Timothy 2:5-6 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 God Did Not Hold Back: He Gave His Very Best Romans 5:6-10
4
GOD GAVE TO MANKIND THE VERY BEST…HIS SON
However, Before We Can Benefit, We Must Give… “What must we do?” Acts 2:37 “Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…” Acts 2:38 REPENTANCE involves a change of mind and a turning away from and a turning to. The clear implication is there must be a GIVING UP of contrary attitudes, practices, behaviors and style of life Ephesians 4:17-32
5
SOMETHING TO GET… There is the firm expectation that the One making the promise will give what has been stated (Romans 1:1-7) “And corresponding to that baptism now saves you-not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God…” 1Peter 3:21 God Promised Forgiveness To Those Who Obey Romans 5 & 6 Ephesians 2:1-5 Hebrews 5:8-9 “He became to all who obey Him the source of eternal salvation” An appeal to God, based upon compliance. A surrendering and an expectation of receiving what had been promised Forgiveness and so much more

“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2Corinthians 5:17) A Child of God Is One That Continues To Grow Throughout Life: A Work In Progress Philippians 2:13 Hebrews 13:20-21 Our Work Isn’t Done Until We Enter “The Rest” (Hebrews 4:1ff esp. v. 11) NEWNESS OF LIFE GROWTH IN LIFE Colossians 3:1-17 “Making Progress…”
