My name is Melissa Sotelo and this is my first year teaching. I grew up in a small town in West Texas and moved to the area in I am married to Bobby and we have four children. Jadalyn is in 11th grade, Bobby in 5th grade, Brielle in 3rd, and Anthony is in Kindergarten. Our children have attended Hutto ISD since 2008 and we love it! We also have a little 3-year old dog named Roscoe. Our family keeps very busy with sports and activities. My family is very important to me and my reason for always striving to do my best.

My favorite thing to do is pile up on the couch with my family and watch a good movie. My favorite show is “This is Us”. I enjoy crafting when I have the time. Even though I have strayed from it lately, I love to jog and run 5 & 10K’s when possible. I also love tea, sparkling water, and caramel M&M’s.
I graduated in 2004 from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a Bachelor of Business of Administration in Finance. I earned my EC-6 teaching certificate with endorsements in Special Education and English as a Second Language from Austin Community College in 2018.
I am very excited for this school year and looking forward to getting to know each of my students. 2nd grade will be a great year and I know each one of you will learn and thrive!
