Freedom Rides Whites would sit at the back of the bus and blacks would sit at the front At terminals blacks would try to use the “whites only” water fountains, bathrooms etc.

King gives his “I have a Dream” speech 1964 – Civil Rights Act passed that prohibits a state from using different voting standards for blacks and whites. Gave federal gov’t right to integrate schools.
