General Physics
2
Force- Any Push or Pull Receiver- Object getting the force Agent- Object giving the force
3
Forces Balanced Forces- produce NO change in the motion of an object.
Unbalanced Forces- produce a change in the motion of the object.
4
Contact Force- force exerted by an agent that must touch the receiver.
Noncontact Force- force exerted by an agent that does not touch the receiver.
5
Types of Force Electrical Force- force that causes unlike particles to attract and like particle to repel. Elastic Force- force exerted by a material that is stretched.
6
Types of Force Frictional Force- force exerted by two objects that rub together. Types of friction- sliding, rolling, fluid
7
Centripetal Force- force that causes objects to move in a circular path.
8
Types of Forces Buoyancy- the force pushing upwards by a liquid on a submerged body. Magnetic Force- the attractive or repelling force of a magnet and/or iron
9
Types of Forces Gravitational Force- the mutual force of attraction exerted by all objects. Mass- amount of matter in an object Weight- the amount of gravitational pull on an object.
